These images were created in response to chapters of Tony Benn's book, Letters to my Grandchildren. The premise of this book was regarding politics and young people.

Same concept as the previous collages. This time using black and white background images rather than colour.

Using the charm photos in collage again. This time i gave them more context. The background images of these collages are from the Birmingham area during the 1950s. This was both were my grandmother lived (whose bracelet it originally was) and where the charms were made (by the nuvo company, in the Birmingham jewelry quarter).
Cabinet of curiosity
Cabinets of curiosty were popular during the Victorian era. They contained collections of objects which had no real connection to each other. Essentially they were a collection of seemingly random objects that the owner wanted to display. The thing that links the objects is simply the owner's likes and dislikes.
Whilst researching this topic i made many observational drawings of objects i liked from musuems etc. I decided to keep the look and feel of my sketchbooks.
